What to expect

Our mission is to enable freedom of movement within a virtual event – but we have to be prepared for all eventualities. So we need people who are happy to move about over the course of the event and ensure there are no violations of our Code of Conduct. You’ll also be a point of call should people want to report any issues.

Leading up to WordFest Live

In the lead up to WordFest Live, there will be a number of tasks that we'll ask to complete, nothing too taxing.

During WordFest Live

Modes of Communication

During the live event, we ask that you actively move between Tables in the Community Tent and Sessions in both Stage One and Stage Two. This is so you can be an active participant in both the live chat and video conferencing. The live chat will be moderated by the Chat Moderators, however, we ask that if you notice any inappropriate issues - you share this with your team lead.

When you drop into the Community Tent, we ask that you check in with each of the sponsors, make yourself known as a Community Moderator and that they can speak with you if they need.

Moderation of users

If you come across an attendee and you feel their behaviour warrants removal from the platform, please inform your team leader immediately via Slack.

You will be added to a private Slack channel for communication.

After WordFest Live

Kindly inform the volunteer lead/leads of your completion
